This 'Friends'-Inspired Ice Cream Tastes Like Coffee and Nostalgia
The classic '90s television series Friends taught us a lot about friendship and complicated relationships. (It also set an unrealistic expectation about how much time we'd spend in coffee shops with our friends.) But now our love of Friends, and said friendships, is being reimagined — in an ice cream!
Serendipity, the iconic New York dessert restaurant famous for its frozen hot chocolate, has launched a series of four new ice creams in tribute to decades of favorite movies and TV series.
The ice cream brand has partnered with Warner Bros. for a Friends-inspired ice cream aptly named Central Perk Almond Fudge, which features chocolate-covered almonds and fudge swirls in a mocha almond fudge ice cream. You may recognize the name (and the flavor inspiration) from the corner coffee stop where the Friends stars frequently hashed out life's problems and peculiarities.
Friends isn't the only series or movie getting the ice cream treatment, however. Other upcoming flavors include ice creams inspired by The Goonies, which is also available in March, Caddyshack, and A Christmas Story.
"Friends is a pop culture classic that we couldn't be more thrilled to create a special flavor for! Our Central Perk Almond Fudge flavor is nostalgia in a pint that makes you feel like you're with your six best friends indulging in a sweet treat at a coffee shop," said Sal Pesce, president and COO of Serendipity Brands, in a statement to media.
The Friends Central Perk Almond Fudge and The Goonies Sloth and Chunk Rocky Rooooaad? are available online at serendipitybrands.com and select grocery stores nationwide now.
