Pinterest says there's been a 157% increase in "bedtime ritual" pins in 2018—that's a lot of us out there trying to fight sleepless nights.
If you feel like you've tried everything to fall asleep and rest well but still find yourself tossing and turning, consider trying a new routine. Below, browse the most popular bedtime routine pins on Pinterest from 2018. Who knows—you might end up picking up a new tip that changes your sleep game forever.
Stretches before bed
More than 3,000 people have saved this pin, and it makes sense: stretching your body before bed can help relax your muscles, especially if you've had a particularly active day. This pin offers six different yoga moves that will not only serve as a stress reliever, but will also help you get a better night's sleep.
Epsom salt foot soak
You've probably used Epsom salts when you've had a muscle injury, but they're good for so much more than that. This pin—which has been saved 1,000 times—links to a site that explains the benefits of soaking your feet in Epsom salts before bed with a little lavender essential oil, which helps calm you, for 30-45 minutes each night.
Bullet journaling—or dot journaling—has been a trend for a while now; it combines writing down your thoughts with a touch of creativity. But so far in 2018, this particular pin has been saved 8,000 times (increasing in popularity by 112%), helping beginners get started if they're not already familiar with bullet journaling. It makes sense that dumping your thoughts before bed would help you sleep better.
Essential oil linen spray
Remember that tip about putting lavender oil in your foot soak? This pin, which has been saved 17,000 times, links to a DIY spray you can make at home for your PJs and your pillow case that will help relax you when you finally get into bed after a long day.
Chamomile tea or latte
Drinking tea before bed is a really relaxing ritual to add to your bedtime routine, and people—4,000, to be exact—are loving this particular recipe. This pin links to a "Sweet Dreams Chamomile Latte," which combines tea, almond milk, honey, and vanilla bean paste for the perfect bedtime drink.
If chamomile tea isn't your thing, maybe you'd prefer to drink this instead. This pin has increased in popularity by 746%, so it must be worth it. Following this recipe, which includes ingredients like nutmeg, cinnamon, and ashwagandha (an adaptogen sold in some South Asian grocery stores that helps you chill out), is supposed to create a warm, milky beverage that will lull you right to sleep. Plus, it's called Moon Milk, which just sounds cool.
For so many of us, getting to sleep at night is no easy task, but hopefully these pins help you. You never know—soon, you might be able to get yourself all tucked in, sip some Moon Milk, and drift off to dreamland. Happy sleeping!
