Butter

Buy: Vermont Creamery Cultured Butter with Sea Salt Crystals

Live active cultures added to the cream help it develop buttermilk and hazelnut notes as it slowly ferments. Then it's churned with sea salt. That all adds up to a phenomenal butter. $5 for 4-oz. roll at Whole Foods Markets

DIY: Toasted Pecan Butter

Toasted pecans are pulsed together with brown sugar, butter, and vanilla to create a spread you'd be happy to melt over pancakes, waffles, French toast, biscuits, and rolls.
