McDonald's is expressing gratitude toward people who have worked tirelessly to keep us all safe and healthy by announcing the Thank You Meal, a free meal for healthcare workers and first responders to thank them for all their hard work and heroism during this troubling time.

Served in the iconic Happy Meal box, the Thank You Meal is there to give back to the frontline heroes who are putting their lives at risk and working countless hours to help communities in the U.S. get well.

Starting April 22 through May 5, healthcare workers and first responders can receive their free Thank You Meal through both carry out and drive thru by simply showing a work badge or ID at participating McDonald's restaurants across the U.S.

The Thank You Meal is available for pick-up during breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and it will feature a choice of sandwiches, drinks, and a side, including the beloved fries or hash browns, along with a note of appreciation for all their dedication and selflessness during this time. The tasty meal is served in the McDonald's iconic Happy Meal box, in the hopes of making their day a bit "happier."

"We have been inspired by the way our franchisees have been going above and beyond to support their local communities throughout this trying time," said Joe Erlinger, President, McDonald's USA, in a press release. "I couldn't be more proud of how our company, franchisees and supplier partners have come together to give back to those who are working tirelessly for our country. That is truly our McDonald's system at its best."
