Very important news: Mac & Cheese Pringles are back. I repeat, Mac & Cheese Pringles are back.
Instagram account @thejunkfoodaisle reported that the cheesy snack has been spotted at Dollar General.
The chips were originally released back in 2017 as part of Pringles' Thanksgiving set. Though the flavor wasn't @thejunkfoodaisle's favorite at the time (it garnered three out of five stars), the Instagrammer is hopeful that this could mean the brand is considering bringing back more holiday-themed flavors.
The limited-edition chip set included a full spread of Turkey Day classics: Turkey, Mashed Potatoes, Stuffing, Cranberry Sauce, Creamed Corn, Green Bean Casserole, Mac & Cheese, and Pumpkin Pie.
The chips were met with such enthusiasm after their debut, Pringles decided to bring them back for an (extremely limited) release in 2018.
"When we launched Pringles Thanksgiving Dinner last year, it was so exciting to see Pringle fans' positive reactions celebrating how insanely accurate the flavors were," senior VP of marketing for Pringles parent company Kellogg's U.S. Snacks division Yuvraj Arora said in a press release. "We knew that we had to get Pringles thanksgiving flavors in more people's hands this year."
We tried the variety pack when it was re-released last year. While we absolutely loved the Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, and Pumpkin Pie flavors, we were unimpressed by Pringles' take on Mac & Cheese—and, judging by other tepid reactions, it looks like we're in the majority. It just wasn't "sufficiently cheesy enough," we said.
Oh, well. We'll take what we can get, we suppose. Here's to hoping the more well-received flavors will make their way back to shelves soon enough.
