All of Me ... Loves All of What John Legend Just Did for Hungry Kids

Singer John Legend is a pretty smooth musician, but he wasn't quite smooth enough to stay under the radar when he tried to secretly donate $5,000 to settle up some kids' school lunch accounts. (But it makes us love him even more that he tried.) The Seattle Times reported that Seattle dad Jeff Lew was floored when he saw that someone named John Stephens had donated $5,000 to his GoFundMe campaign to settle up the lunch debt of every kid in the Seattle School District. He wanted to know more about this generous John Stephens guy! It just took a little Googling to discover that Stephens was also known as John Legend. (Ever heard of him?) But, could it really be?

Still not completely sure if it was the Grammy-winning Legend, Lew took a shot and messaged him to say, thank you—and BTW, areyou?? The three-word reply from Legend: "Yes, it's me." [Jaw-drop.] Lew took to Twitter to give Legend another shout out, to which Legend replied—removing any lingering doubt—"My pleasure! We should have free lunch for all of our public students!"

Lew's initial goal was to cover the approximately $21,000 of school lunch debt in Seattle, and to date, the campaign has raised more than $47, 200. We think that calls for an encore [jaw-drop]. Legend's wife, Chrissy Tiegen, grew up just north of Seattle in Snohomish, WA.
