Food News and Trends Lay's Recall Hits Nine States — Is Yours One of Them? Talk about Ruffling some feathers. By Tim Nelson Published on May 12, 2021 Share Tweet Pin Email When it comes to mindless snacking, there's nothing in the world that gets the job done like a good bag of chip. But if you're a lactose-intolerant fan of Frito-Lay products, you may want to be mindful of one particular bag of chips that's best avoided for the time being. Specifically, Frito-Lay has issued a voluntary recall for 16 ⅛ ounce bags of its Ruffles All Dressed Potato Chips. As you might've gathered from the previous paragraph, the issue at hand is the potential presence of undeclared milk ingredients, which could certainly pose a threat to anyone with a dairy allergy or intolerance. According to a company announcement shared by the FDA, the chip bags in question may have made their way to regional Sam's Club warehouses in the Southeast, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. The items subject to the recall were not sent to any other retailer besides Sam's Clubs in the aforementioned states, and no other Ruffles (or Frito-Lay) products outside of this particular sized bag of All Dressed chips is subject to the recall at this time. Furthermore, no allergic reactions have been traced to the recalled product, which bears a "guaranteed fresh" date of June 1. Anyone who does have an allergy or sensitivity to milk and a love for everything bagel-style chips is encouraged to discard the offending product. Thankfully, it seems like Frito-Lay has plenty of chip-flavored chips you can choose from instead, so the snacking can continue apace. Be safe out there, people. Was this page helpful?
