Proving There Are No Limits, Lays Is Now Making a Chili-Flavored Chip
With winter more or less here, which means it's time to get the Crock Pot out of storage and try slow cooking some chili. While there's no tastier, more filling way to get through a cold, dark night, maybe assembling a chili is just too challenging for you. Or worse, maybe your Crock Pot pressure cooker just got recalled and you're unable to make proper use of it for a while.
If that describes your current chili making scenario, then you might be relieved to know that Lay's is planning to put out a chip that replicates the experience of eating chili while watching your team play in the Big Game. That's thanks to a new limited-time flavor they've literally decided to call “Game Day Chili.”
As you'd expect with a name like that, this crunch take on one of the best foods you can eat in a bowl features a combination of flavors like tomato, chili pepper, onion, garlic, and a little bit of Tex-Mex style spice to ratchet up the excitement to "4th quarter of a playoff game" levels. The obvious limitation is that potato chips can't really recreate the comforting warmth of a good bowl of chili on a winter's day, but maybe if you put them in the microwave with a little shredded cheese on top, you'll get there.
Though they aren't in stock yet, it sounds like you'll start seeing these during the first week of January 2021, because a chip this special doesn't deserve to be tarnished by the toxicity of 2020. The good news is that these 7.75 ounce bags of goodness will be around in time for the NFL playoffs, so it could be worse.
