Chick-fil-A fans rejoice!
The beloved restaurant chain has bestowed the lucky residents of five Southern cities the honor of testing out their newest menu item. Chick-fil-A confirmed in an email to Southern Living that mac & cheese (yes, really!) is being offered as a side item in several cities as part of a limited-time test.
The preferred accompaniment to fried chicken and biscuits is reportedly being tested in Phoenix, Arizona; Greensboro, North Carolina; San Antonio, Texas; Nashville, Tennessee; Baltimore, Maryland and Houston, Texas.
"These tests will help Chick-fil-A decide whether or not the menu item will become available nationwide in the future," the restaurant said in a statement.
Customers in these designated markets are also able to order the mac & cheese off the catering menu as a small or large tray option.
Based on the overwhelmingly positive response the new side has gotten on social media already, we feel confident that it's only a matter of time before the whole country is digging in to Chick-fil-A mac & cheese!
