One secret for gorgeous skin? Eat guacamole! Avocados contain healthy fats and antioxidants to boost skin health and help protect against sun damage.

Guacamole Base Formula

Two tablespoons of any of these tasty guacamole versions has only about 50 calories.

Ready in 15 minutes. Makes 1½ cups

Ingredients

  • 2 medium avocados, halved, seeded, and peeled
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • ¼ cup fruit or vegetables
  • ¼ cup snipped fresh herbs
  • ¼ cup crumbled cheese (optional)
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons finely chopped spicy pepper or onion
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Directions

Mash together avocados and lime juice in a bowl. Stir in fruit or vegetables, herbs, cheese (if using), spicy pepper or onion, and salt. Serve with tortilla chips, plantain chips, or cut fresh vegetables.

1. Sweet Citrus Guacamole
