Hershey's Is Giving Us Just What We Love for Valentine's Day: More Reese's
Will you accept this peanut butter rose?
It's hard to believe we are talking about Valentine's Day when the baubles and bright lights of the holiday season are still hanging around trees and lamp posts, but the world keeps ticking on. That means Valentine's Day candy will soon be replacing the Christmas sweets on shelves everywhere, so chocolate houses are spreading the sweet cheer of their new candies and returning favorites. That candy news starts today, with Hershey's revealing its 2021 Valentine's Day lineup.
First — and I believe most importantly — is the brand-new Reese's Peanut Butter Rose. As much as any love-bug can relish a dozen roses on Valentine's Day, real flowers wilt and die. Know what will never wilt and die? The feeling of tastebud joy you experience every time you bite into creamy Reese's peanut butter surrounded by a snappy shell. This 3.9-ounce (that's almost a quarter of a pound) sculpted candy is the perfect gift for your Valentine — or, let's be honest, yourself.
Another Reese's gift on the day of love: the Reese's Big Box O' Love. This V-Day-themed box holds 20 (yes, 20!) Reese's peanut butter cups, which is nearly all your sweetheart will need to know how much you care for them. Almost.
Hershey's Kisses Meltaways may look familiar (the candy itself is not new), but the artistic team at the candy factory decided to take the plain wrappings up a notch for the February holiday. Instead of silver wrappings, these Kisses are coated in rich, red rose prints with a green flag to look very much like flowers. Of course, inside the rose wrappings is a classic milk chocolate Kiss with a velvety, luscious meltaway center that's decadent enough to sweep you off your feet.
If your Valentine's Day list consists of a lot of beary special friends, you'll certainly want to pick up a few of these brand-new Hershey's milk chocolate bars shaped like adorable bears. The front of the bear even says "Beary Best Friends." At 5 ounces, these oversized bars will last a lucky friend in your live through lots of snacks. These are especially great gifts for kids who want to offer their friends something special and unique but don't have need for flowers or love poems.
Lastly in the Hershey's 2021 lineup of new Valentine's Day candies is this box of classic milk chocolate Kisses and luscious milk chocolate and white creme Hugs with a chocolate creme center. How no one thought to make a Hugs & Kisses box before, I'll never know. These would have been the perfect gift for my girlfriends in high school, when we vowed to treat one another to the most perfect Galentine's Days ever.
Coming back this season will be three fan favorites: Hershey's Kisses Lava Cake, Reese's Peanut Butter Hearts, and Kit Kat Raspberry Creme.
The Lava Cake Kisses were first introduced in 2019 and feature a "molten" chocolate center at the core of dark chocolate Kisses. Bite into a Kiss, and a luscious flow of chocolate comes rushing out.
The Kit Kat Raspberry Creme, which were first introduced in 2020, are the cutest pink wafer bars you've ever seen. Only available in the Valentine's Day timeframe, you'll have to grab a bag quickly if you see one. They go fast.
And no holiday is complete without Reese's shapes, the misshapen peanut-butter-and-chocolate confections dedicated to every season on the calendar. For Valentine's Day, naturally, the shape is a heart. Well, heart-ish.
Now that Christmas candy is discounted and quickly clearing shelves, stores nationwide will begin displaying these Valentine's Day offerings, so keep an eye open the next time you're shopping and stock up, whether you have a valentine of your own or not.
