Hershey's Just Unveiled Their Easter 2021 Offerings, and Things Are Looking Sweet

Earlier this month, word leaked that Hershey's could be introducing what might be the best Reese's peanut butter cup innovation in quite some time: mallow-top cups. Equal parts milk chocolate, creamy peanut butter, and marshmallow-flavored creme, this new Reese's cup promised to combine two top Easter candies—Peeps and Reese's peanut butter cups.

Lucky for us, the chocolatiers at the Hershey's, Pa.-based company just confirmed that these marshmallow-topped cups will be arriving in spring 2021. Now that's a reason to hop for joy!

"This Easter, our star is the Reese's Mallow-Top Peanut Butter Cup," Michael Reese, Senior Brand Manager, Holiday, said in a press release. "We've reimagined the classic Reese's Cup by combining the top Easter flavors, milk chocolate, marshmallow, and delicious Reese's peanut butter, all into one amazing cup. Yes, it's as good as it sounds."

While these peanut butter cups may get the majority of the attention, they're only one of several new Easter candy announcements made by Hershey's today. You don't want to miss these other new items:

Hershey's decided to settle the debate — which part of the chocolate bunny do you eat first, the ears or the body? — with the biggest set of ears possible. And did you know the rectangles of a Hershey's milk chocolate bar have a name? They're called Pips, so the new Hershey's Milk Chocolate Pip Bunny is a cute, cheerful chocolate bunny with extra-long Pips, er, ears. When you're craving something sweet, you can pop a Pip off the bunny's ears.

For the holidays, Hershey's introduced fun and interactive build-a-snowman and build-a-Santa chocolate bars, and for Easter, they've reinvented it with Hershey's Milk Chocolate Build-A-Bunny. Just like the larger chocolate bunny, this bar has Pip ears, but you'll need to break apart more than the ears to align the bunny's body. It's as much a game as it is a sweet snack.

The last new release for Easter 2021 is a tart-sweet chewing gum release: Ice Breakers Strawberry Lemonade in a darling duckling container. How cute will this sugar-free gum pack look tucked into an Easter basket? Like these other Easter candies, this duckling will wander off soon after the season ends, so grab one while you can.

A few other fun and recent Easter candy releases will be back in 2021. Hopping back for another year will be Reese's Peanut Butter Unboxed Bunny and Hershey's Milk Chocolate Unbox Bunny. These 4.25-ounce bunnies are the perfect addition to baskets (or to sneak into your office drawer for a little nibble when you need an afternoon sweet snack).

My personal favorite returning item is the Reese's Pieces Shake N' Break. These hollow chocolate eggs are filled with Reese's Pieces, and you have to beat them (with your hand, a mallet, a solid chocolate bunny, you decide) to crack open the candies for the surprise inside.

Lastly, but most certainly not least, Kit Kat is bringing back the Lemon Crisp flavor, a seriously delicious wafer treat that's coated with a sweet-tart citrusy white creme. First introduced in 2020, these Kit Kats are a bright spot in the sea of seasonal treats.

But, like any good limited-edition seasonal candy, these will go fast, and stores aren't likely to restock if they sell out, so snatch up what you want when you see it. Look for these on shelves after Valentine's Day.
