Just in time for the holidays, M&M's® has released a new limited edition flavor they call Peanut Brrr-ittle, and here's what you need to know before you stuff them into Christmas stockings. The green and red candies have a flavor and aroma that'll remind you of butterscotch, but essentially these are very similar to regular Peanut M&M's (which are a personal favorite).

If the manufacturer really wanted to emulate the peanut brittle experience, the milk chocolate coating could enclosed bits of caramelized peanuts, but no. Ultimately, this product doesn't deliver anything markedly new, though Bravo thinks they taste a bit like a mash-up of Amaretto and Drambuie, which opens up all kinds of imaginative alcoholic possibilities.

You can find Peanut Brrr-ittle at Target and online retailers such as Amazon.

Bonus taste test: Another M&M's seasonal flavor out right now for a short time is Pecan Pie, which, despite what you'd think, doesn't actually contain nuts. The milk chocolate based flavor has been available for the holidays for the past two years, but isn't really worth getting too excited about because it basically tastes like original M&M's and may just leave you longing for a slice of pecan pie.
