Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, Lucy, and the rest of the comic strip cast will be back on TV this Halloween.

Last year, the Peanuts gang didn't get to bring their Halloween party and hunt for The Great Pumpkin to broadcast television. Apple TV+, which began streaming classic Peanuts content and creating new content, purchased the rights to the nostalgic animated flick. For the first time in 54 years, the cartoon was off TV.

This year, however, Apple TV+ is partnering with PBS and PBS Kids to bring the pumpkin patch mischief and Halloween excitement to TV once again.

When Will It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown Air in 2021?

PBS and PBS Kids will air It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown one time this Halloween season: Sunday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 EST. Set your DVRs if you will be out of the house during this time. It won't air again in 2021.

There are a few other ways to get your Peanuts fix, however, if the PBS night needs an encore.

How to Watch the Charlie Brown Holiday Specials

In addition to The Great Pumpkin, Apple TV+ owns the rights to all the Charlie Brown holiday specials right now. That means they aren't guaranteed to broadcast any of them on TV. If you need your hit of nostalgia each holiday season, good news: There are several ways to see the movies.

Apple TV+

If you need around-the-clock the Charlie, Snoopy, and their pals, your best bet is to sign up for Apple TV+. The streaming service has all the Charlie Brown holiday movies. Plus, they're releasing a new one for 2021, For Auld Lang Syne, which will debut Friday, Dec. 10.

In 2020, AppleTV+ streamed It's the Great Pumpkin for free for several days. They may do that closer to the holiday this year, but there is no guarantee. If your Halloween won't be complete without a viewing, don't depend on this option.

Watch on PBS

Set your DVRs. It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown will air Sunday, Oct. 24 at 7:30 p.m. EST. It is the only planned showing of the Halloween holiday special on broadcast TV. Apple TV+ is partnering with both PBS and PBS Kids for the presentation.

Rent on VUDU

Streaming service Vudu has a number of classic movies available for rent. For $4, you can stream a digitally remastered version of the Charlie Brown pumpkin movie.

Buy the DVD

If Oct. 24 is just too far away, or one viewing won't be enough, buy the DVD, and start the show early. (You could even watch it every day until Halloween. We won't tell.)
