Some believe it's a sign of a larger return to comfort food, which was spurred by the pandemic. Others know the reason is something much more simple — melted cheese. Once limited to sports bars and restaurants, mozzarella sticks are now much easier to make at home. The process is streamlined by air-frying mozzarella sticks, and as an added bonus, you don't have to worry about grease spills or burns. The result is an easier mozzarella stick that negates any need for hot oil or panko crumbs. How to Make Easy Air-Fried Mozzarella Sticks What you'll need: Sliced breadString cheeseButterGarlic powderFresh or dried parsley and oregano Instructions: Use a rolling pin to flatten out a slice of bread. Place string cheese on one side of the bread and roll until completely covered. Trim off crust and pinch the edges together.Prepare the garlic butter by melting the butter and stirring the garlic powder and herbs in. Dip a silicone basting crush in the melted garlic butter and coat the rolled bread liberally. Repeat the previous steps until you've prepared the desired number of mozzarella sticks. Place bread rolls in an air fryer and cook at 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 5 minutes. Pause halfway through to rotate mozzarella sticks. Serve immediately with marinara sauce or preferred dipping agent. Using sliced bread makes this process much easier since you don't have to worry about getting the panko coating to stick to the cheese. However, if you are craving a panko-crusted air fried mozzarella stick, we have that recipe too.
