How to Dice Tomatoes in 3 Easy Steps
We'll show you how to dice tomatoes in just 3 easy steps. You can use this same method to dice all kinds of foods into cubes quickly and easily.
How to Dice Tomatoes
Be sure to remove produce stickers and wash tomatoes before you get started. (It's usually easier to remove the stickers before washing.)
1. Slice the Tomatoes
Use a serrated kitchen knife or a very sharp straight-edged knife for slicing. Place the tomato on its side and cut into evenly spaced slices starting at the stem and ending at the bottom. Take care that the slices are the same width.
For steps 2 and 3, you'll make all of your slices the same width as step 1. If you want a very small-size dice, make all of the slices closer together.
2. Cut the Slices Into Strips
Arrange the tomato slices next to each other or stacked on top of each other. Cut the slices into evenly spaced strips.
3. Dice Strips Into Small Cubes
Lastly, make evenly spaced cuts across the strips and you'll see how the pieces come away as small cubes. Congratulations! You just diced a tomato.
