"We are talking about bacon, cheese, and onions after all, so it wasn't that big of a shock. The way the chipotle-spiced maple syrup brought everything together was a risk well rewarded."

2. Bacon and Egg Doughnuts

Make any Father's Day breakfast or brunch dish that much more special with a plate of candied bacon on the side. "Amazing. A must try, says Ang D. "Made this for Fathers Day and bagged 4 pieces tied with ribbon and attached to a bottle of beer for the godfathers. So cute and the godfathers raved!"

5. Chef John's Grilled Mojo Beef

Grilled steak is one of our most popular Father's Day dishes, and we think Dad would eat this up with gusto. (Or with black beans and rice.) Beef skirt steak is soaked in a citrusy marinade of orange and lime juice, garlic, cumin, oregano, cayenne, and onion, and quickly grilled. "Only change I made was to use flap steak since I couldn't find hanger steak,: says Teacherlinda. "Otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly. It was great! Great flavor, and the meat was soooo tender! Husband loved it, too."

6. Beerbecue Beef Flank Steak

"Beer: It's the bacon of beverages," says Chef John. "It makes everything better." Here he uses it to make a deeply flavored barbeque sauce for grilled flank steak.

7. Garlic Steak with Garlic

Chef John calls this a Father's Day special, saying, "What father doesn't love steak, and what father wouldn't like steak even more with tons of garlic on it?" In case you're worried about garlic breath, this garlic is low-roasted in olive oil until it turns soft, sweet, and golden brown.

8. Santa Maria Grilled Tri-Tip Beef

For another take on grilled beef, try this tri-tip roast dry-rubbed with spices and grilled with a garlic-vinegar basting sauce. "My whole family enjoyed this," says laxandbaseeballmom48. "It was a real treat and worthy of a special dinner."

9. Grilled Salmon with Bacon and Corn Relish

Chef John describes it best: "You are really going to love this exciting and vibrant new way to use salmon. It's dressed up with an easy and summery relish. Did I mention there will be bacon? Oh, yeah."

10. Grilled Korean-Style Beef Short Ribs
