The Cheez-It Wine Box Is Back
2020, huh? What a crappy year it's been. I'll spare you the complete recap, but it's never a good sign when everyone spends a good chunk of the year sitting at home eating snacks to stay safe and drinking copious amounts of wine to disengage from the news cycle.
Normally, getting everything you'd need to throw a depressing solo or socially distanced wine and cheese party would involve purchasing two separate items. Heck, in states that forbid the sale of wine in grocery stores (looking at you, New York), it'd even require visiting two separate retail outlets. There simply has to be a better way.
Well, there is. For the second year in a row, Cheez-It has produced a limited edition Cheez-It and Wine box. Yes, you read that correctly.
Whereas last year's initial introduction to the concept of pairing cheesy crackers with boxed wine went a long way in shattering the stereotypes of what counts as a wine and cheese party, this year's edition should put something of a summery spin on the affair. That's because the 2020 box will feature White Cheddar Cheez-Its pared with a box of House Wine Rosé.
As a viral tweet accompanied by a photo of last year's pairing of original Cheez-Its and House Wine Red suggests, this particular moment in human history is (perhaps unfortunately) perfect for just kind of stuffing yourself with Cheez-Its and getting drunk on boxed wine.
Given that combining Cheez-Its and boxed wine would seem to inherently reward laziness, the good news is that you don't have to leave your home or put on pants in order to pick one up for yourself. You just have to go to OriginalHouseWine.com starting at 2PM Eastern on Thursday, July 23, to grab your limited-edition order. Just don't wait too long, because supplies are limited, and this is probably going to go pretty fast.
So if you want to host the laziest wine and cheese party ever, you know what to do. In this case, it's perfectly acceptable to hoard it all for yourself.
