A Dutch oven is a jack of all trades in the kitchen - and it still manages to master everything it does. For instance, a Dutch oven is a great vessel for soups and stews during any season, but it can just as easily be used to bake bread. Don't have a skillet large enough for a one-dish dinner? The Dutch oven will work, too. Need an impromptu bread basket? Dutch oven.

But before you think just any Dutch oven will work, you have to know there are some good ones, and then there are some not so good ones. One of the good ones, and one of our favorite Dutch ovens, is the Lodge Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven. And if you happen to be in the market for a new Dutch oven, a second one for all that you cook, or a great wedding or house-warming gift, then now's the time to buy because it's marked down almost 40 percent, to just under $70. That's the lowest price we've seen on the beloved cookware since last year's Amazon Prime Day.

If you've long coveted much more expensive brands like Le Creuset and Staub, we get it. They're absolutely beautiful. But we tested this Dutch oven against nearly a dozen others, including those with cult following, and it came out on top, so when we say it's great, we mean it.

But don't just take our word for it. Amazon shoppers called this Dutch oven the "best cookware purchase in years," and among the more than 25,000 reviews, that's high praise.

In addition to the classic six-quart Dutch oven, which is great for a family of four or one or two people who like to cook larger batches for leftovers, a few other sizes are also marked down. The smaller 4.5-quart Dutch oven is also on sale, marked down to $83. A larger 7-quart oval Dutch oven is also reduced 39 percent to just $90.

The Dutch oven is also available in a variety of colors so you can match a kitchen. Or, if you're hosting a party soon, you can get one to match the theme and serve soup from it, or use it as a beautiful vessel for gathering chips or snacks. The Lilac Dutch oven, which is a delicate purple color, is actually marked down 60 percent to $48. Oyster White is a timeless shade of warm white that would be great on any stove. The Red Dutch oven is a shade that is beautiful on holiday tables, and of course the dramatic Indigo is on trend as a neutral shade that can fit with any design style.

Lastly, if you're in the market for a cast iron Dutch oven that is not coated with enamel (these are great for campers and grillers), the Lodge Pre-Seasoned Dutch Oven With Loop Handles and Cast Iron Cover is 26 percent off, at just $70.

We don't know how long this deal will last, so grab your favorite color and size now before prices go back up. Keep scrolling to see all the sizes, and click over to Amazon to check out all the available colors.
